A Face Made for Social Media by Lucky Leash

When Disa and her family went camping at Garland Bay, they had no idea that the trip would start a chain reaction, ultimately leading up to the adoption of a puppy. The family had spotted a couple walking a puppy. Disa’s husband, Art, noted the puppy’s gorgeous markings. Art took the couples’ number, as there was a litter of eight other puppies looking for a home! Disa recalls that, a week or so later, her daughter phoned her, saying that it was important for her not to be late coming home from work because they were “going to see the puppies”.

Disa chuckled knowingly, “No one just ‘goes to see puppies.’” It was an ambush! She knew they were coming home with a dog.

When they visited the eight puppies, a calm, curious puppy ambled over to see them. He just wanted to be around the family. It was a beautiful brindle boy and he had picked them. This is how the family welcomed Thor.

“His nickname is Don,” says Disa.

This is because he’s a big, barrel-y boy, reminiscent of Donkey Kong. Thor (“Don”) keeps his family happy and active. They couldn’t imagine life without him.

Because Thor is a very social guy, and the family is also very busy between hockey field trips and work, Disa followed up on a recommendation to enroll Thor at Lucky Leash. It’s there that Thor has made all of his puppy friends. Like his “crew”: Bear, Juno, and Plum. Even just hearing their names is enough to get him riled up!

Lucky Leash offers Thor a beautiful space to strengthen his bonds and flex those social skills. Leanne, the owner of Lucky Leash, often documents the antics of her furry charges. In fact, Thor has become a bit of a star on Instagram. Watching him frolic on social media brings joy to Disa, as she can watch her boy thrive and has a sense of peace knowing that he is in the best hands possible with Leanne and her team who, she says, are really great with Thor.

So, what’s in the future for Disa?

“I’m going to retire and manage Thor’s social media career”.
